The U.S. has never had two major hurricanes make landfall in the same season. Even as initial recovery efforts for Hurricane Harvey are underway, we’re already bracing ourselves for Hurricane Irma, the strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic and as of today, a killer storm, with at least 8 people already dead in the Caribbean. It’s hard enough to plan and prepare for a major hurricane, but the uncertainty of exactly where and when Irma might make landfall is causing great anxiety, and seems to add insult to injury as recovery efforts from Harvey are just beginning.

Safety and security expert, and President of SSI Guardian, Michael Yorio, discusses the physical and psychological impact of the flooding in Texas, the long and arduous recovery process that’s ahead, how to plan and prepare for Hurricane Irma, and how to stay safe in different types of emergencies.

Living Well with Dr. Peg is brought to you by SSI Guardian, Thursdays at 1 pm Mountain on KLZ 560 AM (simulcast on KLDC 1220 AM) and online at DrPegRadio.com. Encore Broadcast: Sundays at 10:30 am.
